SMEs based in an EU Member State and willing to register a European trademark or design can apply for a refund of the fees paid to the EUIPO, by accessing the Ideas Powered for Business SME fund (grant sheme of 20 million Euro). Each SME can be reimbursed up to a maximum of EUR 1.500.
Applications are allowed from 1 to 31 May 2021, from 1 to 31 July 2021 and from 1 to 30 September 2021. The EUIPO will not consider applications received outside these periods.
Grants are distributed according to a chronological criterion for submitting applications.
Grants will be awarded on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.
The beneficiaries of the grants can only be SMEs included in the European definition, which have not already received national or European funding for the same services.
It is meant by:
Medium-sized company: fewer than 250 employees and turnover of less than 50 million euros
Small business: fewer than 50 employees and turnover of less than 10 million euros
Micro enterprise: fewer than 10 employees and turnover of less than 2 million euros
