Italian MiTE: 1.5 billion investments for circular cities

On September 30, the Italian Ministry of Ecological Transition will publish the decrees with the selection criteria for projects relating to investments in infrastructures to support recycling and recycling plants. These projects will receive one and a half billion investments for "Circular Cities": The measure aims to achieve the recycling targets set by EU legislation, which provides that a maximum of 10% of waste ends up in landfills and that 65% is instead recycled.

The investments include measures to upgrade, digitize and modernize the infrastructures for separate waste collection and move along three axes: infrastructure for separate waste collection, plants for the recycling of waste separation fractions and critical flows. 60% of the investments in recycling plants will go to the Center-South of Italy.
